Terms and Conditions

1. Acceptance of Terms

By placing an order through Thick Richards, you agree to these Terms and Conditions, our Privacy Policy, Refund Policy, Shipping Policy, and any additional terms displayed on a product page or during checkout.

All orders are subject to acceptance, payment verification, inventory availability, legal compliance, and, where applicable, verification of Federal Firearms License (“FFL”) information.

We reserve the right to refuse, cancel, or limit an order when necessary to comply with applicable law, prevent fraud, correct an error, address inventory issues, or protect Thick Richards and its customers.

2. Legal Compliance

You are responsible for knowing and complying with all federal, state, county, municipal, and local laws that apply to the purchase, possession, transfer, ownership, transportation, and use of any product purchased from Thick Richards.

We will not knowingly ship or transfer a product to a destination or person when doing so would violate applicable law.

An order may be canceled if we or the receiving FFL determine that the product cannot lawfully be shipped, transferred, or possessed in the buyer’s jurisdiction.

The availability of a product on our website does not mean that the product is legal to purchase or possess in every jurisdiction.

3. Firearm Purchases

Modern firearms purchased through our website must be transferred in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local law.

Unless applicable law expressly permits otherwise, firearms requiring an FFL transfer will not be shipped directly to the purchaser. Firearms will be shipped to an appropriately licensed FFL for transfer to the purchaser.

The purchaser is responsible for:

  • Selecting an appropriate receiving FFL.
  • Confirming that the receiving FFL will accept the firearm from Thick Richards.
  • Providing accurate FFL information when requested.
  • Cooperating with the receiving FFL’s transfer procedures.
  • Paying transfer fees, background-check fees, permits, taxes, and other charges imposed by the receiving FFL or applicable jurisdiction.
  • Completing ATF Form 4473 and any other required paperwork.
  • Successfully completing all required background checks and satisfying all eligibility requirements.

The receiving FFL is responsible for determining whether the firearm may legally be transferred to the purchaser.

Submitting payment through our website does not constitute legal transfer or possession of the firearm.

4. Buyer Certification

By ordering a firearm or other regulated product, you represent and certify that:

  • You are the actual purchaser unless the transaction is otherwise lawfully structured and documented.
  • You are legally permitted to purchase, receive, possess, and use the product.
  • You satisfy all applicable federal, state, and local age and residency requirements.
  • You are not prohibited by law from possessing firearms or ammunition.
  • You are not purchasing a firearm on behalf of a prohibited person.
  • You will not make false statements in connection with a firearm transaction.
  • You will not attempt to circumvent a background check, FFL transfer, waiting period, permit requirement, or other legal requirement.

Straw purchases are strictly prohibited.

Thick Richards reserves the right to cancel any transaction that appears suspicious, fraudulent, unlawful, or inconsistent with firearm-transfer requirements.

5. Age Requirements

Purchasers must satisfy all federal, state, and local minimum-age requirements applicable to the specific firearm or other regulated product being purchased.

The receiving FFL will verify the purchaser’s identity, age, residency, and eligibility as required by law before transferring a firearm.

6. Restricted Products and Jurisdictions

We do not knowingly ship firearms, magazines, ammunition, parts, accessories, or other regulated products to locations where the product is prohibited.

Restrictions may apply based on:

  • Firearm type or configuration.
  • Magazine capacity.
  • Barrel length.
  • Threaded barrels.
  • Stocks or braces.
  • Grips.
  • Ammunition type.
  • Product features.
  • Purchaser age or residency.
  • State or local licensing, permit, registration, waiting-period, or documentation requirements.

The purchaser is responsible for verifying legality before placing an order.

Thick Richards may request additional documentation or cancel an order if we cannot reasonably verify that shipment or transfer is lawful.

7. California

Thick Richards does not currently ship firearms or other regulated firearm products to California.

Orders with a California destination involving products that fall within this restriction may be canceled and refunded in accordance with our Refund Policy.

8. Other Restricted Jurisdictions

Orders involving jurisdictions with additional firearm, ammunition, magazine, or product restrictions—including but not limited to Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Washington, and the District of Columbia—are subject to applicable law and receiving-dealer requirements.

This list is not exhaustive and may change as laws change.

Thick Richards reserves the right to decline shipment to any jurisdiction when legal compliance cannot reasonably be confirmed.

9. Magazine and Product Restrictions

If a firearm includes a magazine that cannot legally be shipped to the destination, Thick Richards may cancel the order or, when lawful and commercially reasonable, ship the firearm without the restricted magazine.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing before shipment, no refund, substitution, or credit is guaranteed for a magazine or other included component that cannot legally be shipped.

We are not required to modify, disassemble, permanently alter, or otherwise convert a product to make it compliant with a particular jurisdiction.

10. Payment

Payment is due at checkout unless otherwise stated.

Accepted payment methods are those displayed during checkout.

Orders will not ship until payment has been successfully processed and, for firearms, all required FFL information has been received and verified.

Applicable sales tax will be collected when required by law.

Thick Richards may cancel or hold orders that trigger fraud-prevention, payment-verification, identity-verification, or compliance concerns.

11. Pricing and Website Errors

We make reasonable efforts to ensure that product descriptions, photographs, specifications, inventory, and prices are accurate.

However, errors may occur.

Thick Richards reserves the right to correct or cancel an order involving:

  • An obvious pricing error.
  • Incorrect product information.
  • Incorrect photographs.
  • Inventory discrepancies.
  • Technical or website errors.
  • Products that cannot legally be sold or shipped as ordered.

If an order is canceled before shipment, any amount collected for the canceled merchandise will be refunded.

12. Used, Vintage, Surplus, and Trade-In Items

Used, vintage, antique, military-surplus, police-trade-in, and similar products may show wear consistent with age and previous use.

Product photographs and descriptions form part of the item’s condition disclosure.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, Thick Richards does not guarantee matching serial numbers, historical authenticity of every component, remaining service life, cosmetic condition beyond what is reasonably represented, or compatibility with aftermarket parts.

We strongly recommend that used firearms be inspected by a qualified gunsmith before firing.

The purchaser is responsible for using the correct ammunition and following all manufacturer instructions and firearm-safety practices.

13. New Products and Manufacturer Warranties

New firearms and accessories may include a manufacturer’s warranty.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, manufacturer warranty claims must be handled through the manufacturer.

Thick Richards does not provide an additional warranty beyond any warranty expressly provided by Thick Richards or the product manufacturer.

Normal manufacturer test-firing residue, minor packaging wear, or non-material manufacturing variations are not considered defects.

14. Failed or Denied Firearm Transfers

Purchasers are responsible for confirming their eligibility to receive a firearm before placing an order.

If a transfer cannot be completed because of a background-check denial, purchaser ineligibility, residency issue, age restriction, incomplete or inaccurate information, local-law restriction, or receiving-FFL policy, the firearm remains the property of Thick Richards until it is lawfully transferred.

The purchaser is responsible for reasonable costs associated with returning, storing, transferring, or otherwise handling the firearm.

Any refund will be processed only after the firearm has been legally returned to Thick Richards and inspected.

Original shipping, return shipping, transfer charges, and a restocking fee of up to 25% may be deducted from the refund to the extent permitted by applicable law.

A firearm may not simply be transferred to another person as a substitute purchaser. Any alternate transaction must independently comply with all applicable laws and FFL requirements.

15. Order Cancellation

Orders begin processing shortly after they are placed.

Buyer-remorse cancellations are not guaranteed.

Firearm orders that have already shipped to an FFL generally cannot be canceled while in transit.

If Thick Richards agrees to cancel an order after processing has begun, unrecoverable processing, shipping, payment, transfer, or other costs may be deducted from the refund where permitted by law.

16. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Thick Richards is not responsible for injury, loss, damage, or liability resulting from unlawful, negligent, reckless, improper, or unintended use of a firearm, ammunition, accessory, or other product after lawful transfer or delivery.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to waive or limit rights or remedies that cannot legally be waived.

17. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in our business practices, technology, or applicable law.

The version posted on our website at the time an order is placed will generally apply to that transaction.
